Camping Adventures 2012!

Nella sitting on her bunk!

After ten years of marriage and adventure...Jeff and I decided that it was time for a "National Lampoon" family adventure this summer...Camping!!! So, the last weekend of April, we headed to our camping destination #1: Estes Park. It was beautiful...and FREEZING! The girls didn't mind one bit! Just arriving safely was success to me, but once we had the water and power hooked up, we decided that we really had this figured out! Yeah, right!

Keagan enjoying the dining table...this was right before Dad opened the door to tell us that the water line had froze overnight. So the powdered donuts came out...and then we loaded up to find a restaurant. This is camping alright!

Mmmm...donuts...

Powdery Fun!

After breakfast, we headed into Rocky Mountain National Park to Bear Lake. We made it, but we didn't expect the three feet of snow that was still on the ground! We carried the girls to the lake, tried not to blow over, laughed, took a photo, and turned back to the car. We did see at least one hundred deer, elk, and mountain goats!

After our morning adventure, we headed to Chippers Lane (the only bowling alley in Estes--4 lanes!) We were the only ones there...and the girls loved it! Here they are giving high fives to each other!

Keagan was pretty good at getting the ball to the lane!

"Oh Yeah! I'm a bowler!"

"Check me out!"

Night...night!

Our view from our campsite.

A smile from the Captain! He's smiling because he was dealing with "black water" for the first time. Very entertaining...thank goodness for plastic gloves!
